Cerrado Mineiro

Cerrado Mineiro Coffee from the Cerrado Mineiro is characterized by being a fine drink, with a strong body and excellent aroma and sweetness. The local climate is favorable for growing high quality coffee, as it has well-defined seasons: hot, rainy summers followed by dry, cold winters. The bloom is concentrated, the ripening is uniform and is accompanied by plenty of luminosity, helping to fix aroma and sweetness. The state of Minas Gerais is world-renowned for its coffee. It was the first to be recognized as a Denomination of Origin in Brazil, proving the link between the product and the territory in which it was produced. Covering some 55 municipalities, 4.5 thousand producers, and 200 thousand hectares of cultivated area, its production totals more than 7 million bags a year. The Cerrado Mineiro coffee has an intense aroma, with notes of caramel and nuts, delicately citric acidity, a moderate body, and a sweet taste. The guarantee of Origin and Quality is given when all producers follow the same processes at the time of production. Only coffee growers in the official area and who follow the rules can have their coffee from the Cerrado Mineiro Region assured. It is a unique coffee, because its sensory properties are derived from a typical soil, well-defined seasons, and the human and cultural elements of the producer. The coffee produced with excellence, ethics, traceability, and high quality is the motto of the Cerrado Mineiro Region, working to generate value to the coffee and its entire production chain.

Mogiana

Mogiana The Mogiana region has been a traditional coffee producer for more than 200 years, and is recognized for producing aromatic specialty coffees. Located in the Rio Grande Valley, bordering the state of São Paulo, the municipalities of Claraval, Capetinga, Cássia, Ibiraci, Itamogi, Sacramento, São Sebastião do Paraíso, and São Tomás de Aquino have produced beans that exceed 85 points in the classification tests of the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA). At a distance of approximately 400 km from the state capital of Minas Gerais, the Alta Mogiana coffee production center is located in the southwestern part of the state. The coffee plantations are located at an altitude that varies between 900 and 1300 meters, with a very mild average annual temperature, around 20º C, and a hot and humid summer. These climatic characteristics are ideal for the slow and uniform ripening of the grain, particularly the Arabica species, determining the quality and flavor of the beverage. It is a smooth-tasting, yet full-bodied beverage, with medium-roasted grains and balanced acidity. It has a marked and fruity aroma, velvety creamy body, medium acidity, and very balanced. The finish is lingering, with a caramel sweetness and notes of chocolate and nuts. Currently, Alta Mogiana alone has 100,000 hectares of coffee plantations. This enhances performance in the specialty grain market through titles in competitions and high scores in expert evaluations. In its majority, the region is composed of small properties, which invest in infrastructure supported by technology and qualified labor. Besides this, they have good roads that facilitate the transport of the production – points that favor the production of fine coffees. Today, the coffees produced there are identified and protected by unique terroir characteristics, tradition, and production practices in accordance with the demanding gourmet market. Image Gallery
